PIANTO TREMA CANTO is a ritual dance work that fuses the emotional transcultural celebrations of mourning, inspired by the traditions of southern Italy and Central America, creating a space where the tangible and the spiritual intertwine.
The piece explores mourning not only as loss but as a vital act of connection and homage, inviting a ritual embrace and recognition of the dead amid shadows and light.
The atmosphere combines the solemn unease of Sicilian catacombs with the color, music, and vibrant spirituality of the Day of the Dead in Mexico, where death is celebrated as continuity and rebirth.

Through movements that evoke weeping, funeral rites, pilgrimage to sacred spaces, and communal celebration, the dance reconstructs ancestral bonds.
The body on stage carries a collective memory, embodying the forces of weeping and remembrance coexisting in mortuary ceremonies.
This piece is both a ritual of mourning and a celebration of life that defies oblivion, honoring the active presence of the dead among the living and deepening the sacred relationship between memory, ritual, and community.
