La Comunera is a dance project that aims to approach dance as a pure element of social enjoyment. Recalling the concept of ballroom dancing, which emerged during the french renaissance for the enjoyment of the privileged classes, La Comunera  focuses on music, to evoke memories of the New World folk dances which surfaced during the cultural exchange with Europe throughout the time of the conquest. This revival aims to create a space for contemplation and listening to the traditional rhythms that resonate in Abya Yala and that are still present as a living vestige of a common background between oppressing and oppressed cultures.
La Comunera is also a character; she comes to dance but above all to awaken her ancestral traces, in the cadence of the landscapes of Andean music.

La Comunera joined an evening at the Wilhelmine Tanzsalon the 8th of June in @CordilleraBerlin, accompanying the rhythms created by the musical ensemble INTIYAKU: Aude Boucher, Fernando Velasco, Washo Valenzuela & Edison Montaguano.

La Comunera offered her dance, awakening its ancestral traces in cadence with the landscapes of Andean music.

La Comunera es un proyecto de danza que toma al baile como puro elemento de disfrute social. Recordando los -bailes de salón, del renacimiento francés, La Comunera se enfoca en la música, para evocar desde la danza la memoria de los ritmos de Abya Yala, y del intercambio cultural con Europa en la época de la conquista. Estas danzas buscan un espacio de escucha de los ritmos que siguen presentes como vestigios vivos de un trasfondo común entre las culturas. La Comunera baila para develar sus huellas ancestrales, en la cadencia de los paisajes que la música andina recrea.
